Terms of Service

Last updated: July 26, 2026

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using this UUID Generator site (“Site”), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Site.

Description of Service

This Site provides a free, browser-based tool for generating Universally Unique Identifiers (UUIDs) in versions 1 through 8, as defined in RFC 4122 and RFC 9562. Additional features include UUID validation, bulk generation, and export. All generation occurs client-side in your browser.

No Warranty

The UUID generator is provided “as-is” without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. We make no guarantee that UUIDs generated are suitable for any particular purpose, cryptographically secure for use as authentication tokens, or free from collision in your specific environment.

Specifically, you acknowledge that:

  • UUID v4 is not designed to be a cryptographic secret and should not be used as a standalone password or API key
  • UUID v1 embeds timestamp and MAC-address-derived data which may not be appropriate for privacy-sensitive applications
  • Collision probability, while astronomically low, is not zero
  • You are responsible for validating suitability for your specific use case

Permitted Use

You may use this Site for any lawful purpose, including personal, academic, and commercial use. You may generate UUIDs for any legitimate application.

Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

  • Use automated scripts to scrape or stress-test the Site in a way that disrupts service for other users
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, disable, or interfere with any part of the Site
  • Use the Site in connection with any unlawful activity
  • Circumvent any rate limiting or security measures

Intellectual Property

The Site’s design, content, and code are owned by or licensed to us. The UUID standard itself is defined in open RFCs (RFC 4122 and RFC 9562) and is not proprietary. You are free to use any UUID you generate without restriction — generated UUIDs are mathematical outputs and carry no intellectual property protection.

Third-Party Advertising

This Site is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense. By using the Site, you acknowledge that third-party ads may be displayed and that those advertisers may use cookies as described in our Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the Site or any UUIDs generated through it.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your use of the Site or violation of these Terms.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if unresolved, through binding arbitration.
